Interview from Susie
Are you male or female?
Susie: I am Female

How old were you when you attended this facility?
Susie: 21 years old

Describe your addiction:
Susie: I have struggled with alcoholism and addiction to cocaine, meth and heroin. Before going to treatment my addiction had made my life no longer worth living and had ruined nearly every aspect of my life.

Why did you choose to go to rehab?
Susie: I knew that if I did not seek help immediately that I was going to die and that my death was not far away at the rate my addiction was dragging me down.

Why did you choose this facility?
Susie: I had heard many wonderful reviews on the center and the staff from people in the Tacoma recovery community.

How long were you in this rehab facility? Inpatient or outpatient?
Susie: I was a patient at Sound for 60 days. This treatment center is considered intensive outpatient with a therapeutic living aspect. So patients are in group for five hours a day, attend multiple meetings, and enjoy activities while living in sober living housing provided as part of the treatment center.

What is this facility's approach to the treatment process?
Susie: The treatment process at Sound Recovery is incredible. Monday through Friday there is group for five hours in the morning. During this time patients will meet with their case manager for a one-on-one at least once a week. Patients are also able to get outside help in the form of a psychologist or psychiatrist or whatever else they may need.

What do you think this rehab facility does well?
Susie: I believe the facility has an amazing staff and support team, a fantastic set up, a quality meeting schedule, and a superb aftercare set up.

What could this facility do better?
Susie: I believe that utilizing music or art therapies on a more routine basis would be beneficial.

Overall do you feel your treatment here was successful or not?
Susie: My time here was a success in my mind. I am working the steps with my sponsor, living in oxford, continuing to attend aftercare and holding a job. I have self esteem and feel hope and purpose in my life.

Did you relapse after treatment?
Susie: I am going on four months of continuos sobriety. If you suffer a relapse, ask the staff for help. Everyone there is absolutely amazing and will help you however they can.

Would you recommend this facility to a friend or a family member?
Susie: I would absolutely recommend this treatment center to anyone who thinks they may have a problem with drugs or alcohol.

What general advice would you give to somebody dealing with addiction?
Susie: Ask for help! It is not a sign of weakness but rather a sign of strength. People care about you and want you to be happy and sober. Reach out and you will be amazed at how wonderful your life can become.

Have you been to any other rehab facilities?
Susie: I have also attended the young womens program at Lakeside Milam in Burien, intensive outpatient through Lakeside Milam in Issaquah, outpatient through Lakeside Milam in Issaquah, and intensive outpatient through Grace Recovery Center in Tacoma.
