Interviews from Mike, Terry, Monkeyonmyba
Why did you choose this facility?
Mike: My insurance would cover treatment there.
Terry: I was told about the facility by my therapist and then when I went to calling around, they had a great reputation.
Monkeyonmyback: My parents put me in this facility, I was covered by my dads insurance

Tell us about the experience - was it positive or negative?
Mike: The facility is located in a worn out old nursing home building, pretty much a dump. The counselors were all very friendly and reasonably competent. If you believe AA and the 12 steps are the answer to your substance abuse problems, you'll like Summer Sky's program. If you want to actually examine within and think for yourself, you're better off somewhere else.
Terry: Well I am still clean and sober after 7 months. I been to multiple treatment programs in my life and this was a great experience.
Monkeyonmyback: When I first arrived at this place I hated it. I.had a leg moniter that they cut it off. Thank god my p.o didnt violate me. I couldnt use the phone or have contact with anyone for two weeks. I just wanted to sleep, there was no time for that. Group, after group. I didnt amitt I was an addict till one of the other girls told me I wouldnt go home till I did.

Do you feel the program was successful?
Mike: Not really. None of their advice struck a chord with me, and I went back to drinking shortly after my stay. I ended up changing jobs and life circumstances, and I gave up drinking on my own shortly thereafter. That was four years ago.
Terry: I am happy someone directed me to this facility.
Monkeyonmyback: No and yes, I didnt want to go home at the end of my tretment because I became custom to my living situation. I feel.i learned about drug addiction and the long term affect. I still till this day dont use inhalents. But have other Addictions I fight with.

What advice would you give somebody considering going to this facility?
Mike: You're not going to learn anything in Summer Sky that you couldn't pick up for free in a local AA meeting.
Terry: Keep an open mind and listen to your counselor and participate in all the activities. Take a wide range of different clothing, because they have lot's of outside activities and off campus things to do.
Monkeyonmyback: Take this chance to find your self, take this time as a blessing. This place is more of a mom & pop kind of place. The help only comes if u want it and the program works if u work it.
