Interviews from Jasmine, Ginger, Eric, Kris
Why did you choose this facility?
Jasmine: Court Ordered (Pinellas County)
Ginger: Court Ordered
Eric: Structure and Stability. The people there really care .. They are all in recovery and understand addiction. I went here on my own cause it was where they allowed me to go to work. They were generous enough to allow me to pay after I got a job
Kristy: coourt ordered

Tell us about the experience - was it positive or negative?
Jasmine: Can be both but VERY hard to get through successfully without trips back and forth to jail. The owner of the company is a drug addict himself so he knows his stuff. However, he is very cocky and money hungry. He sends people back to jail all the time for having a balance. Not to mention he plays favoritism.
Ginger: Yes it was positive!! I had a chance to get a job and be a productive member of society.. This is not for everyone.. You get alot of freedom.. You have to want to change. The former drug addict that runs the place does know his business.. He is not about the money, alot of people are given weeks to get a job and pay their fees.. He does not play games.. He is fair and strict.. He has many years free from addiction and he give you guidence if you accept it..
Eric: I had the best chance to resume my life in a positive manner at Simply Hope. I enjoyed the fact that it was all up to me to do what was required of me. I followed the rules and structure. This in return helped keep me clean.
Kristy: NEGATIVE

Do you feel the program was successful?
Jasmine: No. I am about to be on my way to prison actually. It can be successful though. Just depends on the person and how desperate they are to get help. Also, you have to be willing to put up with a LOT to get through it too.
Ginger: It is all up to you what you do with this chance to get your life together.. It is a self suffient program... Jasmine didn't you get arressted 1 week after you were ther for retail theft???? You never gave it a chance
Eric: The program structure is a formula that is geared for you to succeeed if you follow it.. Yes ! More people complete Simply Hope and stay clean than any other profram in this area.. This is my opinion
Kristy: NO! MR Harris woke my son out of sound sleep @ 11;30pm, 'Give me your urine, he ordered, occoping him in the bathroom, he couldn t pee w/ this man watching him ,ray told him to get out, go to court @ 8;30am the next day,my son was ready to give u/a that didn t happen. ryan was so proud of going to meetings and staying clean, why bother, he said and opted out of the program. Mr harris, aka joe pepci, jasmine was right in previous review, you play favorites and gave my son 'NO HOPE!!!!

What advice would you give somebody considering going to this facility?
Jasmine: If you are truly ready to give up the life involved with addiction and are ready and willing, go for it! But keep in mind that this program gives you a LOT of freedom that will ultimately allow you to "hang yourself" in the end. If you don't think your ready or even if you do think your ready...just give it your all and most importantly, don't get on Mr. Harris's bad side!
Ginger: Don't lie and be honest..Get a job go to meetings and follow the rules.. You will have no problems from the staff or Ray.. Ray judges the behavior not the person.. He knows we have a disease
Eric: Just follow the rules and the requirements and you will be introduced to a new way of life
Kristy: 24 months probation is a long time for a man who runs simply hope to eject you on a whim, and if you come from a poor family like ours be prepared to keep yourself fed, pay rent,150 wk and get use to the bus line,be on time, good luck w the buses with that and try as you may Mr Harris just might not like you ! and back in the pokey you.ll wind up
