Interview from Adam
Are you male or female?
Adam: Male

How old were you when you attended this facility?
Adam: 23

Describe your addiction:
Adam: I started drinking and smoking pot and cigarettes at a young age it wasn't long after that that I was doing pills and cocaine uppers, downers anything I could get my hands on. I loved quaaludes codeine Percocets tumminols vicodin methadone I was a garbage. Methadone I was a garbage head. Than I met the love of my life QUEEN heroin and there is nothing I would not do to get it. I did a lot of crazy messed up shit in them years .

Why did you choose to go to rehab?
Adam: My life was out-of-control totally manageable I was headed for long-term prison or death I was living a horrible existence. And I knew if I didn't go I would die on the street , in a gutter, only God knows where .

Why did you choose this facility?
Adam: I knew some friends that had went through the program and it worked pretty well for them I also knew a few of the counselors that work there ,they were from my old neighborhood .

How long were you in this rehab facility? Inpatient or outpatient?
Adam: About 90 days inpatient

What is this facility's approach to the treatment process?
Adam: The facility was based on a 12 step program AA and NA. Their program offered group therapy one-on-one counseling study classes inside meetings outside meetings came in,all based On the 12 steps of AA. We did multi meetings study groups group counseling one counseling they kept us busy from seven in the morning till nine at night . Little revolved around the 12-step AAA program

What do you think this rehab facility does well?
Adam: They had good people running the place, most of the counselors had been through many of the trials and tribulations and Horrible living that comes along with abusing drugs and alcohol . I think they care about their patients and want a better life for themselves and the patients

What could this facility do better?
Adam: I don't know if there's anything they can do better in my mind it's all up to the individual you have to want to get clean and change your life because nothing changes unless you change it . No one can be forced into recovery this is a decision you must make on your own you need to set your own goals and go for them.

Overall do you feel your treatment here was successful or not?
Adam: Yes the treatment works they give you good tools good direction and good people to work with. This particular rehab any rehab if you follow simple suggestions and listen to the people that have been through it anybody can make it and live a shoulder clean Wonderful life but you need to totally surrender and give up your old way of living .

Did you relapse after treatment?
Adam: Yes I relapsed, but it's not a requirement I relapsed because I didn't want to follow some Simple suggestions like stay away from old people places and things I took my own will back tried it my way again and failed. I'm happy to say I'm sober now and have a great life show for any newcomers or anybody struggling with addiction get to a meeting, get yourself some phone numbers and the sponsor and most of all listen to what you're told

Would you recommend this facility to a friend or a family member?
Adam: I would recommend any rehab to a person who is cought up in addiction. Any rehab is a start in the right direction and they're going out of business left and right there's very few left so if you're struggling with addiction and you can get into a place go get yourself in because it's getting harder and harder to find a place. Please get some help before it's too late you won't be alone you won't be people that love and care about you no matter what

What general advice would you give to somebody dealing with addiction?
Adam: Get yourself in a 12 step program get with a higher power you're worth it you won't meet some great people who were willing to help and will help you get through any and everything . And these people don't want or expect anything in return so please get to a meeting you're worth it.

Have you been to any other rehab facilities?
Adam: Eva's kitchen, Salvation Army, The Harbor House at the lighthouse all of these places are in New Jersey thank you
