Why did you choose this facility?
Anastasia: I was sent there from prison (Edna Mayan correctional facility) as part of my parol. It was paid for by the state.

Tell us about the experience - was it positive or negative?
Anastasia: I had a very positive experience. Initially there was a 28 day black out and then I was able to look for work and go on passes and visit with family. I could speak with my family everyday on payphones. There were a lot of helpful groups and counselors. They were strict but not unfair. I learned a lot about myself and also that being clean and sober can be fun.

Do you feel the program was successful?
Anastasia: I believe in my case the program was very successful. After my release I completed my parole and although I did have a brief relapse I have now been clean for 8 months and I attribute it to a lot of things I learned at kintock.

What advice would you give somebody considering going to this facility?
Anastasia: If you are in the nj prison system and have the opportunity to apply for this program definatley go for it!!! You will not regret it as long as you are focused - take what you need and leave the rest.
